5.3(3.1)

5.3(3.1) Clarify, agree and revise working arrangements, promoting good working relationships

The basis for a healthy and positive working relationship is to have a strong communication foundation. When it comes to your colleagues they should be people you feel like you can talk to if there is ever a problem and know they will help you.

Problems including sick days, unsure of how to complete a task or making a mistake, big or small you should feel confident enough to be able address the situation to fellow colleagues.
Your working arrangements will be presented to you in a contract at the beginning of your employment, outlining information such as holidays, sick days, and payment (etc).

Maintaining good working relationships throughout your time at your job and any other job you may have in the future is essential for your progress and opportunities and working arrangements in general.
For example I had to take a day off as I had an allergic reaction, and had been told by a Doctor to stay home. When explained to my employer, he understood and allowed me the day off.
If you maintain good working relationships with your employers then having a day off due to a valid reason shouldn't be a problem.

Having regular discussions about work and tasks promotes a good working relationship as communication is maintained, and updates from your colleagues are regular, consistently letting people ‘in the know’ about new projects, or tasks.
