5.1(1.2) Outline how to clarify, agree and revise working arrangements in a way which promotes good working relationships
The basis for a healthy and positive working relationship is to have a strong communication foundation. When it comes to your colleagues they should be people you feel like you can talk to if there is ever a problem and know they will help you.
Problems including sick days, unsure of how to complete a task or making a mistake, big or small you should feel confident enough to be able address the situation to fellow colleagues.
Your working arrangements will be presented to you in a contract at the beginning of your employment, outlining information such as holidays, sick days, payment (etc).
When it comes to sick days, if maintaining a good working relationship with your employers, there shouldn't be a problem. For example I had to take a day off due to an allergic reaction, and when explained to my employers, they understood and accepted.
Having regular discussions about work and tasks, this promotes a good working relationship as communication is maintained, and updates from your colleagues are regular, consistently letting people ‘in the know’ about new projects, or tasks.
