2.2(2.4) Evaluate, with others, areas of strength and weakness, in relation to own presentation performance
Here at the company, every Thursday someone is chosen to present to the rest of the group a handful of trailers that they either enjoy, find interesting or really dislike.
I recently had to take up the task of presenting, and chose a selection of James Bond trailers.
After the presentation, I spoke to a colleague called Becki about my presentation performance, what went well and what could be better.
A strength was that I had prepared information to share with the group about the trailer or film, and so I was never unsure of what I was saying. Furthermore, through sharing this information with the group I was able let them know some facts before watching the trailer.
Another strength that we discussed was that I was able to keep eye contact with different members of the group. Through this it presented more confidence, and I was able to keep the group interested and alert by looking at them. Furthermore, keeping their focus on the presentation.
When we discussed the weaknesses, Becki explained how my voice was not loud enough, and so sometimes mumbled. Through this people may have got confused or might not have understood the information that I was sharing. Something that is incredibly important during a presentation and something that I will work on.
Another weakness was also speaking quite fast. Again making it difficult for the audience to understand or even have a chance to process the information I was giving to them.
This also causes the chance of interaction with the audience to decrease, meaning they may eventually lose interest in my presentation.
